A Sunday Afternoon on the Circuit of Interlagos

No one could stop Max and he proved, once again, why he is one of F1’s greatest drivers. I chose to paint this version of Sao Paulo in a nod to pointillism. I felt that the individual dots lent to a feeling of vagueness, like trying to see through all the spray kicked up during the race. I chose to show Max making his last pass of the day on Ocon, but I also felt it was important to incorporate the Alpine since this was such a consequential result for their team after a very difficult season. In one afternoon, they jumped three places in the constructors championship due to their unexpected 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
