The unpredictability of this season continues as Ferrari comes home 1-2 at the Austin Grand Prix. This painting includes a big pop of red for the Scuderia, but it also depicts a specific moment when Lando went for an overtake on Max through the double-apex turns of 13 and 14. Both drivers ran wide, but Lando came out in front and didn’t give the place back. It was a dramatic moment that also had implications for the podium. Even though Lando finished in front of Max on track, he was given a 5 second penalty that dropped him to 4th. In placing this painting at those turns, I also wanted to show the enormous, stylized Texas flag that is painted in the runoff area.
