Brilliance from Sainz and heartbreak for Russell. Singapore gave us the rare opportunity this season to see three teams besides Red Bull on the podium, made possible by a masterclass from Carlos Sainz in his Ferrari. He stayed just enough ahead of Norris to give him DRS and allow him to defend from the two charging Mercedes behind him. It seemed that at least a 3rd place finish was in the bag for George Russell as the four frontrunners started their last lap, but he clipped the wall on one of the final turns which sent him into the barriers and out of the race, allowing Hamilton to sneak past and claim the final podium spot.
